There was one scorching summer day in Georgia, when the neighbor gathered all us kids and headed for the public swimming pool in the next town. We were so excited thinking about our afternoon of fun. About the time we got in the pool, a big thunderstorm blew in and she hurried us back into the hot humid car. We were riding home in silence when we rounded the curve at Papa’s farm and caught sight of the most vivid rainbow I can ever remember. It stretched from one horizon to the other. It was kind of like the first time I saw Stone Mountain. It took my breath away.

Have you ever walked out of work in the evening after a long day to glimpse the sky ablaze with a glorious red sunset? It is like the Lord placed it there just for you and then had you look up just at the right time!

God also paints word pictures of Himself in the Bible, and when I take time to think about Him and fall more in love with Him, worry is banished and my mind, and my mood are transformed. David’s one desire was “to behold the beauty of the Lord…” (Psalm 27:4).

Here’s a beautiful song: “Beauty of the Lord”

Karen, Your post is a wonderful last read before I go to bed for the night.
Thank you for the beautiful reminder of God’s goodness and gifts to us, his children.

Your post reminds me of a greeting to the Corinthians from Paul in it he said: “For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
